A full day is in store, with many Provincial DMOs hosting breakfast briefings (check with your provincial team) at the Grand Hyatt. 

10:00 a.m. – Welcome & an overview of the day.  Denyse Waissbluth, Manager Global Communications and Sarah Finstad, Executive Director Global Communications.

10:15 a.m. - Connecting America 2017 Update- Destination Canada’s Suzanne Reeves, Executive Director US and Robin Russell, Marketing Program Strategist, US Leisure Market, will provide a thorough overview of the Connecting America program, launched a year ago during CMM 2016.

11:00 a.m. - Adam Simon, Director of Strategy at IPG Media Lab:   http://www.ipglab.com/

At IPG Media Lab, Adam returns to his creative technology roots and brings innovation-driven solutions to a new caliber of clients, working with companies like Amazon, Uber, L’Oreal, and MillerCoors. His work has earned him a Clio and several Webbys, and has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Fast Company, and Gizmodo. Adam will help set the road map for leveraging all of Canada’s amazing assets through innovative technology.  

11:30 a.m. - 2:00 - p.m. - Connecting with Media Lunch and Learn

With boxed lunches in hand, partners will have the chance to learn from top US media publishers in small groups. One group will be hosted at the Hyatt, while others will be off-site visiting the media brands offices and meeting their teams.  Confirmed media partners to-date include: New York Times, TIME, BBC Travel, AFAR, Roads & Kingdoms and National Geographic.  Joining us at the hotel for an informal panel discussion are Norie Quintos, Jad Davenport, Alex Howard (Lonely Planet). Partners have been assigned a group (identified on your name badge via written colour name e.g. red, blue, green) and media destinations will be announced during this session. Groups leaving the hotel will be guided and notes at each session will be taken so that a final comprehensive document of all the learning will be created.  Note: due to security, substitutions are not allowed. 3:00 p.m. Join a veteran TV news producer for an informal discussion on what TV news producers look for in stories which cover travel, entertainment and general interest. (Note: This session is back at the Grand Hyatt in the Empire State Ballroom).  

This session will wrap no later than 4:00p.m., giving you time to refresh before heading to the Gallery on Lex, Lobby Level and Quebec City Tourism’s Welcome Reception.
